Distracted Driving: A Serious Issue in School Zones

In the state of Kansas (along with the majority of other states in the U.S.), officers have the ability to deter distracted drivers by issuing citations to anyone who is texting or reading emails while behind the wheel. However, police officers in Missouri do not have the same ability to do this. To date, Missouri doesn’t have laws in place that make the act of texting and driving illegal for everyone on the road. While it is illegal for anyone 21 or younger or driving a commercial vehicle with passengers to do so, that’s as far as the law goes. (more…)

Head on collisions take place when two vehicles that are traveling opposite directions run into each other. These types of auto accidents are some of the most dangerous due to the force of the impact, which is doubled because of the traveling speed of each vehicle. Gladstone, MO – Dangers and Risks of Roadway Accidents

According to information from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the most dangerous intersection in the city of Gladstone is located at 72nd Street and MO 1. In fact, between the dates of 2010 and 2016, this intersection saw 41 accidents and 11 injuries. While there were no fatalities here, these numbers are still shockingly high, compared to other busy intersections in the city. (more…)
